Material is inspected on site by an AWS purchasing manager. The purchasing manager will advise on quality requirements for each material and assess the marketability of any new materials the supplier has recently accessed. Photographs and samples are usually taken by the purchasing manager at this point.
The AWS purchasing manager will confirm prices to the supplier by fax or e mail after assessing a number of parameters including, quality of material, load weight, distance from port etc.
